John Knowlton (Head Trainer/Owner)
Certified NASM Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Youth Specialist,prenatal/postnatal,Diabetes,Seniors...
I have been certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine for 10+ years as a certified personal trainer. Over the years I have also become a Performance Enhancement Specialist, in addition to being specialized in Youth, Prenatal, Diabetics, and Senior populations. I am also a Certified TRX Suspension Trainer and have taken several courses in nutrition along with corrective exercise training. Having traveled all along the Eastern seaboard, I have experienced different training techniques and styles which allow me to keep my clients programs varied and exciting.
I have currently Received my Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification through NASM as well. This allows for me to direct individuals and educate clients to reach their goals.
It is my belief that every client should always be given 100% from their trainers. As well as no client should be left in the dark in regards to why or how their program is being developed. Since everyone is different, there is not one particular workout program that works for all, and it is for this reason, that I take the time with all of my clients to have an in-depth fitness assessment so that we can develop a program to fit your personal needs and goals.
I'm currently the Lead/Head Instructor at Branford Hall Career Institute for the Professional Fitness Training program. In 2010 I was named Teacher of the Year and I consistently receive high praise from current and previous students.
I would love to meet with you and help you work towards your goals. If you have any questions or would like more information please do not hesitate to contact me at jknowlton@tonedfitnesstraining.com

Ruth (Liz) Krams (Trainer/Instructor)
Certified Nasm personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist and fitness nutrition specialist
I have been certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine for 6+ years as a personal trainer, and an instructor teaching and training current and prospective personal trainers for 4+ years.
Fitness has developed into a passion for me over the last 10 years that I have been involved with it on a personal level. For over 12 years I was overweight and in poor health, which was a result of my poor lifestyle decisions. After a dramatic weight loss of over 100 lbs I decided to become a certified personal trainer and inspire others to lead a healthy and fit lifestyle. I pursued a career in the fitness industry so that I can share my experience, knowledge and excitement for fitness with others and hopefully improve their lives and longevity. I believe that a balanced and healthy lifestyle is important for overall physical and mental wellness.
I have a passion to inspire my clients to live healthier lifestyles while educating and mentoring trainers to provide the highest level of service while finding a career that that can be passionate about and look forward to going to each day.
Philosophy
It is my career purpose to enhance the quality of leadership in the health and fitness industry by providing students with knowledge, training, and resources necessary for them to explore their career dreams. Teaching is one of my strongest passions, and I consider it my responsibility, as an educator, to develop educational material and courses for fitness professionals that are up-to-date, entertaining, and informative.
